About Me

Hi and Welcome!

I’m Bec, 27 years young and from a little town in Shropshire, England.

A bit about me;

Coffee, travel and anything containing chocolate. Oh and rum. Rum is God.

Whitsundays Loving: I’m on a boat!

For the past 6 years, nursing has been my life. I studied for three years at a university in Liverpool whilst working night shifts as a healthcare assistant at a local hospital to fund my lifestyle through my studies. This wasn’t the easiest but the hard work paid off and in Jan’ 2014 I was rewarded with a BA (Hons) Degree in Adult Nursing and my first job as a real registered nurse; GO ME!

Graduation Day!

Since then, nursing was it. I never really had a desire to travel. Agreeably, I loved spending my annual leave on taking trips abroad and I would save a proportion of my pay for the next destination but for a time, I had been saving to put a deposit down on a house to buy.

As we know, life changes and we are forced to venture out of our comfort zones. Things don’t always go the way we plan them and the money I had saved for a house was now being spent on the cliché of finding myself…I was off to travel!

Going it Solo!

Over the past year, whilst travelling New Zealand, Fiji and Australia; I have made amazing memories, conquered fears and learnt a whole lot about myself. I have also formed friendships that will stay with me forever. You’ll find that most of my experiences I have managed to capture and will share them with you via this blog and on my Instagram page (@abscondedblonde).

I hope you enjoy following my journey as much as I value sharing my experiences with yourselves, motivating and inspiring you to set goals, have courage and follow your passions…
